Country: Slovakia
Slovakia, as a member of the Eurozone, issues investment coins not made of euros, but of precious metals. These coins are of interest to both collectors and investors seeking to diversify their portfolio.
The first coins in the territory of modern Slovakia were minted in the Middle Ages. In the 12th century, mints operated in the cities of Bratislava, Košice and Bardejov. Over the centuries, coin production in Slovakia developed and changed, but after World War II, the mint in Slovakia was liquidated and coin production was centralized in Czechoslovakia.
After the collapse of Czechoslovakia in 1993, Slovakia re-established its own mint. In the first years after its foundation, the company produced coins for the domestic market and also carried out orders for other countries.
